How will NSW leverage our successful handling of the COVID pandemic to drive jobs, investment and economic growth? Is the answer more billionaires and their talented teams or more Asia-Pacific hubs for growing and global companies?

In September last year, the Commonwealth government established the Global Business and Talent Attraction Taskforce, led by former Property Council Chief Executive Peter Verwer AO to lure international businesses and exceptional talent and turbo charge job creation.

In March, Premier Gladys Berejiklian announced NSW would aggressively target international and local businesses and showcase the State’s exemplary COVID response through a new one-stop-shop for the private sector led by senior public servant, Amy Brown.

So how are Peter and Amy working strategically to fulfil their briefs? Which countries and cities do this best and where does Dale see the private sector role in investment attraction? How will they all measure success and what are the opportunities to work together?

Our November business lunch will examine the investment outlook, consider the federal and State plans and outline what it all means for the NSW property sector.
