Leader of the Opposition to brief property industry
As the WA state election nears, Leader of the Opposition Mark McGowan will face Perth’s leading property industry professionals, detailing his vision for the future of WA.
At an exclusive event to be held on August 19, the Property Council and guests will quiz Mr. McGowan on issues such as investing in infrastructure, tax reform, streamlining local government planning, strata reform and providing more housing diversity in Perth’s inner areas.
“The property industry is very interested in the policies that all our political leaders have to build strong communities and keep WA growing ,” Property Council WA Executive Director Lino Iacomella said.
“We are also looking forward to hearing from the Premier Colin Barnett and the Leader of the Nationals Terry Redman, in future Property Council events before the state election.
Some of the Opposition’s policies that will come under scrutiny at the lunch, include the proposed suburban Metronet rail system and Metro hubs, which connect public transport and jobs where people live.
These policies are likely to have a significant effect on the location of jobs and housing and will spur the growth of Perth.
“At the lunch the industry will also have the opportunity to hear Mr. McGowan’s plans for: Infrastructure WA, an independent infrastructure body; the introduction of the Western Australian Industry Participation Plans; and planning for industrial land.
