Industry welcomes Transform Peel commitment

The Property Council of Australia welcomes the announcement by the State Government for first stage funding approval of the Transform Peel project.

“Transform Peel is one of the top infrastructure projects identified by the Property Council, which have the greatest potential to keep WA growing after the mining boom,” Property Council WA Executive Director Lino Iacomella said.

“The project includes a business park, food zone and an integrated water initiative that will introduce new industries and create over 30,000 jobs to support residential and commercial property development in the region.

“Transform Peel is essential for the success of the Perth’s strategic growth plan, Perth and Peel @ 3.5 million.

“Transform Peel will also secure much needed future industrial land supplies in the Peel region and diversify the regional economy away from commodities to more sustainable and steady sources of growth.

“This is a great example of a major infrastructure project that ticks all the boxes, including good project assessment, good connections with strategic planning for the region and good economic benefits in the community.

“Transform Perth is a priority project that would fit perfectly in a much needed long-term infrastructure plan for WA,” Iacomella said.
