Shelter from the storm

If you’re reading this, then I’ll bet you’ve led a fortunate life – with a rewarding job, career prospects and a steady income.

But life for many is not so fortunate.

Even in our land of prosperity, homelessness is a reality for too many Australians – and far too many young people.

So it was fantastic to see our industry out in force on Friday night to support the Property Industry Foundation.

Sydney’s Luna Park played host to more than 600 property leaders, who raised more than $200,000 to support PIF’s programs for homeless and at-risk youth.

Young people under the age of 25 make up half of our nation’s homeless population. PIF not only builds new housing for these young people, but also provides financial assistance to charities that help them get back on their feet.

Credit to PIF Chairman Bob Johnston and CEO Rosemary Smithson on a great night. While Friday night’s fun is over, PIF’s challenge is not, so please consider making a contribution to our industry’s most worthy charity.

Our industry builds shelter from the storm, and supporting PIF helps us give back to those most in need of that shelter.
